How Canadian

Here in Canada there is an important day coming up. Our 150th birthday. For me there will be an art show happening on that day and for the entire weekend. This painting and four more of mine along with many more from the talented people of The Eagle Valley Brush and Palette Club will be on show and for sale at the 38th Annual Arts and Crafts Show at the Red Barn in Sicamous. From June 29th to July 4th. Come celebrate Canada’s big day July 1st! Original art by Susan Feniak. Golden Acrylic on 12″×24″ box canvas

Sicamous Art Walk Time

It is time for the Sicamous Art Walk again.  This year my art will be hanging at the Sicamous branch of the Salmon Arm Savings and Credit Union for the month of June. “Raven Trail Boardwalk” will be one of the paintings I plan to show. If you are in the area I hope you have time to visit the various Sicamous businesses that participate and have a look at all the lovely art work done by the artists of the Eagle Valley Brush and Palette Club. Cheers, Susan FeniakFramed for show

“The Blue Vase”

The Blue Vase Original art by Susan Feniak.  Golden Acrylic on 20″×20″ canvas. It was time for me to do something different. Hope you like it. Cheers, Susan

“The Blue Bike”

“The Blue Bike” original art by Susan Feniak.  Lately I have been surrounded by people I refer to as “me” people.  Self centered self serving folks that do not realize there is a consequence for their actions.  So today it was important to escape to my happy place.  You know get into the zone. This painting is the end result.  Have you ever stepped back from what you have been busily creating and known you have “done good”? It’s a giddy feel good thing.  I haven’t had that feeling for awhile but today I know I “done good”.  See me smile? PEACE

FOR THE BEAUTY OF IT

Golden Acrylics on 18″×18″ box canvas.

“The Puddle”

“The Puddle” original art by Susan Feniak.  Golden Acrylics and Golden Heavy Gel medium on 20″×20″ canvas. Okay so officially this one drove me right batty! I had a vision in my head but transferring that vision to canvas proved difficult.  That being said I had a grand time mucking about with the heavy gel medium. There is a lot of texture on this canvas! I am going to call this one done, for now.  Cheers Susan.

“Pansy Chain”

Painting Pansy Chain“Pansy Chain” Original art by Susan Feniak.  Experimenting and imagining….

Imagine if you will, a warm sunny day, a picnic basket, a blanket spread on the green grass and the time to do the more pleasurable things in life like make a flower chain.  Can you smell that green grass?  Hear the birds sing?  Told you I was imagining.  The experimenting?  Well this painting sat on my easel for an age.  I started it, left it, tweaked it, left it and then I decided to experiment.  I had fun playing with different materials that included spray on glue and tissue paper.  Now you can imagine what kind of mess I got myself into.  But no worries, its all about the fun!!
