More about Susan

“Everything happens for a reason, live it, love it, learn from it! Make your smile change the world, but don’t let the world change your smile”

Susan lives in Salmon Arm British Columbia Canada.  On the sunny shores of Shuswap Lake.  Okay so its not so sunny in the winter months.  Susan had to find something to help pass the time.  What does an outdoor loving, sun deprived, wife, Mum, Grandma, bookkeeper do?  She picks up a paint brush and buys herself an easel.

Susan picked up her paint brushes and an easel in 2009.   One must realize she has no formal training other then a high school art class.  And that art class was way back in 1974/75   Infact Susan remembers her high school art teacher calling her “suzy schmuck”.   Maybe that is why it took until now for her to pick up paint brushes and tackle being an artist.

Although she can’t attend most Fridays, if ever, Susan is a member of the Eagel Valley Brush and Palette Club.

Boating on the Shuswap is a Susan and Carey, husband of 40 years, favorite summer activity.  Much of Susan’s inspiration comes from the pleasant  hours anchored somewhere on the lake or with friends at the Cinnemousun Narrows docks.  Another favorite subject for her art is her garden.

Winters really are long on the shuswap and Susan has already run out of walls in her house to hang her paintings!  Summer will eventually arrive along with boating season.  There will be the usual lack of time for painting but the summer will bring even more inspiration.
“Painting isn’t my whole life. It makes my life whole.”
Susan hopes you enjoy her art.

Hi Susan! I follow you on Instagram so I thought I’d drop by. I’m also a mum and grandmother who last took an art class in the 70s with a husband of 40 years, only I live in Greece! Painting makes me happy, and now, painting with the minions occasionally, even happier! 🌺Marina
