#NatureDoodlewash Lady Bug

June 19  On my nature walk today I came across a Lady Bug or Lady Bird.  No aphids are safe in you garden with these bugs around.  Someone once told me that Lady Bugs are good luck.  Seems to me a lot of things are supposed to bring you good luck.  I suppose it is okay to believe, why not?  One thing is for certain whenever I come across a Lady Bug I treat her with respect.  I will even go to great lengths to rescue one trapped indoors.

Time was at a premium for todays #NatureDoodlewash   Neocolor II Caran D’Ache and Holdbein Artists Water Color on Canson Mix Media 7”x10” paper  Original art by Susan Feniak

Next month is Water Colour Month.  To see what that is all about check out Doodlewash.com or visit Charlie O’Shields at Doodlewash.wordpress.com

  2. So cute….it always makes me smile to see one, but I do find it strange that people are happy for a ladybird to walk over them, but run a mile for most other bugs.

I was always told ladybugs were good luck too, especially if one lands on you. I say, take all the good luck that comes your way! (K)

  6. I used to love ladybugs until the Asian ones took over. Native ladybugs are really lovely; the Asian ones bite, emit a stench, and want to hibernate in your house over winter. LOL! Your looks like the beautiful native ones though…phew! 😉

You even got the face in! Great detail. It’s only the name that keeps me from getting the heebee jeebees when I see Lady Bugs. After all, they are just smaller more colorful versions of ugly beetles. 😳
